United States Deputy Assistant Secretary Matt Erskine Visits Intralox

International trade was the main topic of discussion as U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development Matt Erskine met with leaders from Intralox Friday afternoon at its New Orleans global headquarters.

As Erskine toured Intralox, he learned about Intralox conveyance solutions and its global, direct business model.  Intralox operates out of eight, global facilities and serves customers in over 50 countries.

Earlier in the day, Erskine met with local companies at the World Trade Center in New Orleans.  Representatives from Intralox’s parent company Laitram, L.L.C., World Trade Center New Orleans, Port of New Orleans, Port of South Louisiana, U.S. Department of Commerce, New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, and Oil Research Center International were in attendance.  

Participants at the meeting addressed certain challenges they face within their respective industries. Discussions covered issues such as intellectual property and patent infringement as well as important infrastructure needs within the U.S.
