The European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) France named Intralox’s CleanLock sprockets their 2026 Hygienic Design Award winner. The award was given during the 2026 CFIA trade show in Rennes, France.
EHEDG France’s annual award honors innovation that illustrates the importance of hygienic design in the food industry and contributes to advancing hygienic design standards. Designed specifically for food conveyance and processing, CleanLock sprockets simplify cleaning and eliminate common causes of foreign material contamination risk.
Their self-aligning design ensures each sprocket remains securely positioned on machined shafts, eliminating sprocket drift without retainer rings, lock collars, or hose clamps. This stable alignment reduces bacterial harborage and food safety risks, ensuring durability and compliance with rigorous cleaning cycles.
CleanLock sprockets’ hygienic, easy-to-clean design withstands high-pressure washdowns to support faster, more effective sanitation. This shortens cleaning time, improves food safety, and enhances operational reliability for food processors.
“This award is especially meaningful because it recognizes key pillars of the work we do: hygienic design, food safety, and practical solutions built from the design phase to meet real-world needs,” said Olivier Couraud, Food Safety Specialist at Commercial Food Sanitation, an Intralox company. “I am grateful to EHEDG France for this recognition, which motivates us to continue raising the bar and championing hygienic design as a true driver of performance and confidence in the food industry.”
EHEDG France is the French section of the European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group, an international network of experts dedicated to promoting hygienic design in the food industry.
