Commercial Food Sanitation Awarded PROCESS EXPO Innovation Showcase Award

Commercial Food Sanitation’s FoodSafe Conveyance Workshop was named winner of a Food Processing Suppliers Association 2019 PROCESS EXPO Innovation Showcase award. The award was announced at PROCESS EXPO in Chicago.

PROCESS EXPO exhibitors submitted new products and services to be considered for the Innovation Showcase Awards. Editors from leading trade publications and others judged the submissions and narrowed the field down to 17 finalists, who presented their innovations to the judges at PROCESS EXPO during the trade show.

“As a company aspiring to improve food safety and sanitation, it’s an honor to be recognized by experts in the food industry,” said CFS General Manager Darin Zehr. “Helping drive food safety improvements while impacting efficiency is a big win for companies and the heart of our mission at CFS.”

CFS developed the FoodSafe Conveyance Workshop based on demand from food manufacturers. Taught by food safety specialists and engineers, this workshop covers all critical elements in the conveyor life cycle, including optimal conveyor design, installation and production startup, effective hygiene and sanitation, and developing a conveyor preventive maintenance program.

“The one and a half day on-site FoodSafe Conveyance Workshop is the first of its kind to align multidisciplinary, key personnel on linkage between conveyor performance and food safety at their own plant,” said CFS Global Training Specialist Nicole Cammarata. “It’s a full program that sparks enthusiasm amongst the participants, and often underlying procedural issues emerge from these discussions.”
