luty 5, 2020 - Intralox Asia Pacific: Update on Coronavirus

Updating our Asia-Pacific operations in response to the Coronavirus

UPDATE: February 14, 2020

Despite the various challenges and constraints created by the COVID-19 virus issues, Intralox China re-opened on Monday, February 10, handling customer inquiries and fulfilling orders.

Our Customer Service, Application Engineering, and Technical Support groups are functioning at full capacity using technology to enable a remote working structure and are taking calls and reaching out to customers.  Intralox Operations Teams in belt assembly and equipment manufacturing will ramp up to full capacity over the next two weeks as quarantine periods are observed.  In the meantime, our Melbourne plant continues to help provide business continuity, servicing customers in Japan and South East Asia.

Intralox priorities during this challenging time continue to be:

  • servicing customers and providing business continuity
  • ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees

Original update: February 5, 2020

In an effort to help contain the spread of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), and in keeping with requirements from the Shanghai municipal government to extend the Lunar Holiday business closures through February 9, all Intralox facilities in China will remain closed until Monday, 2020 February 10.

During this uniquely challenging time, our key priorities are:

  • servicing customers and providing business continuity
  • ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees

Servicing Customers and Business Continuity

Intralox Customer Service, Application Engineering, and Technical Support teams began working remotely last week to ensure timely and efficient support to customers in China, Southeast Asia, and India. Our commercial teams are actively contacting customers to ensure any active projects and needs are being addressed in a timely fashion.

Intralox plants in Tokyo, Melbourne, and Bangalore are fully operational. Our Melbourne team has been providing order fulfillment to customers in the region who would normally be serviced from China while our Shanghai plant is unable to operate.

Safety and Well-Being

In accordance with recommendations from the China government, Intralox has canceled internal regional meetings which required travel from attendees outside of China. We have also canceled our Sanitation Essentials Training sessions for February and March. We have eliminated all non-essential business travel and are using technology to communicate effectively with our customers and each other.

Our China office and plants are expected to reopen on February 10. The Intralox Commercial Food Sanitation group has prepared health and safety protocols for our employees which are in-line with WHO and China CDC recommendations. To minimize person-to-person contact, many of our team members will continue to work remotely after February 10 until the virus is contained. Our Human Resources department is monitoring and supporting all employees who may be affected.

“Difficult times show our character and our strength; I am proud of our team and the proactive, rational response everyone has shown to this new challenge,” said Intralox APAC General Manager Rebekah Lemm. “Together we’ll continue to support our customers and keep our team members safe.”
