Aviko, a Netherlands-based potato processor, produces over 90,000 kilos of potato products per hour while maintaining a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week production schedule.
Conveyor cleaning is scheduled every three weeks at Aviko’s plant. Aviko wanted to add a new fifteen-ton line for frozen French fries that could maintain zero product spoilage at transfer points and that featured conveyor belts that are easy to clean efficiently.
Aviko turned to Intralox, their conveyor belt provider of twenty years, to work with their equipment manufacturer and advise on design and sanitation guidelines.
Aviko has reported positive results with the new fifteen-ton French fries line and feels confident in having Intralox as their belt supplier to solve any possible future problems.
“Intralox makes quality belts and provides fast assistance, which is important for keeping downtime to a minimum,” said Harry Hebben, one of Aviko’s Technical Department Chiefs.
