Delivering Superior Performance and Profitability to Our Customers

From its beginnings over thirty-five years ago, Intralox has endeavored to find better ways to increase the productivity and profitability of its customers. When J.M. Lapeyre invented Modular Plastic Belting (MPB), he was seeking an effective conveying solution for his shrimp-peeling machines (another of his inventions). Metal belts corroded in the application due to the abrasion of saltwater, and thus he identified plastic as a much longer-lasting conveyor belt material. Not only did the invention of modular plastic belting pave the way for Intralox, but it also became the standard belt technology in most food industries across the world. In his lifetime, Lapeyre alone was credited with 191 U.S. patents.

Value-based innovation has persevered since the introduction of MPB to the market in 1971. Solutions that Intralox has developed have completely changed the way that certain industries do business. These days, innovation takes the form of complete conveying solutions, including customized products and services, tailored to the exact needs of our customers.

Intralox's R&D efforts now span the globe, driven by some of the industry's foremost product designers and engineers. Still, at the core of Intralox's innovation approach remains an unwavering commitment to delivering new and better solutions that anticipate customer needs.

To date, Intralox has equipped more conveying applications worldwide than any other modular plastic belt company. Take a look at how Intralox has revolutionized certain industries' processes throughout the years.

The principles that guide our innovation

Listen objectively > Think creatively > Deliver results.

  • Listen objectively: We work differently than other companies in our industry because we interact directly with the end users of our products. This gives us a uniquely deep understanding of our customers' processing environments. By gathering input directly through tens of thousands of customer interactions daily, and by developing long-term, mutually beneficial customer partnerships, we are positioned to develop customer-specific solutions that meet today's real-life challenges.
  • Think creatively: Innovation isn't only about inventing new products and services—it’s also about developing new creative processes that solve problems in new ways. Every day, hundreds of Intralox engineers and product development groups are hard at work around the globe aggressively pursuing new and better answers to customer production challenges. The result of their work is often first-to-market technology and related services that drive process changes industry-wide.
  • Deliver results: Our metric for success is the money customers save by using our belts. If a particular belt does not help a customer save money, we don't recommend that they buy it. It's that simple.
